Guns N Roses Are A Name To Remember In Rock Music
Anyone who is fond of rock would have heard of Guns N Roses for sure. Though the rock band was always a centre for some or the other controversies, its music was loved by one and all. With its formative year being 1985, the band is more than two decades old.

The band gets its name from two primitive bands. Actually, members of two different bands namely- Hollywood Rose and L.S. Guns, came together to form this band. Hence, the band begun to be called Guns N Roses. The band had Axl Rose on the vocals, Izzy Stradlin on the guitar, Tracci Guns on the lead guitar, Ole Beich on the bass and Rob Gardner on the drums.

The formative members of the band did not stay together for long. Some time after its formation, the bassist Ole beich was sacked. He was replaced by Duff McKagan. Some time later, Tracci Guns was replaced by Slash and Rob Gardener made way for Steven Adler. But, the band still continued to play and work under the same name.

Throughout its career, Guns N Roses has delivered some outstanding work. Six studio albums, one live album and three EPs is the total work that the band has offered till now. The band has set a record of selling more than 100 million copies of their albums across the globe.

Amidst various other works, the band's album 'Appetite for Destruction' was the most successful. The album alone managed to sell 28 million copies. And that is not just it, the album also managed to fetch the numero uno position on the United States Billboard 200.

Besides giving several successful albums, the band also delivered one of the most successful tours. The band conducted the 'Use Your Illusion Tour'. The tour extended from May 24, 1991 to July 17, 1993. The tour stretched for more than 2 years and was one of the most successful rock tours of all times.

The tour was spread over 192 shows in 27 countries. It is one of the longest tours in the history of rock music. While the tour was extremely successful, it did get its share of flak too. This was primarily due to late starts, cancellations, rants and verbal feuds by lead singer- Axl Rose.

Eventually, the band deteriorated as the band members begun to fall apart. Slash and McKagan quit the band. With their quit, the band had lost most of its formative members. Eventually, McKagan was replaced by Tommy Stinson. The new group finally gave their performance in the year 2001.

Though Guns N Roses experienced numerous highs and lows, the band is still remembered for their new style and rebellious music.
