Profile of a Music Lover

The world has produced many music lovers throughout the centuries. One of the greatest music lovers is the American musician Jonathan Richman. He was born in Natick, Massachusetts on 16 May 1951. He started playing music and writing songs from the mid 1960s. Richman was very much influenced by the velvet underground, a very beautiful music album of that time. He shifted to New York City in 1969.

Richman worked hard to become a great singer and music lover. He did many odd jobs on the way to achieve his goal. He did easily get a break to play professional music in New York. This great music lover was not disheartened and did not stop trying. He proceeded to Boston to fulfill his goal. In greater Boston, this great music lover slowly but steadily became successful. He formed the rock band, The Modern Lovers in Boston. He became associated with other notable music lovers and musicians such as key board player Jerry Harrison and drummer David Robinson. The famous songs of this music band were Roadrunner and Pablo classics. These songs by this great music lover and his band have become immortal in the history of music.

In 1972, the Richman music group recorded with producer Kim Fowley. The love for music led this music lover to California in 1975. There he recorded a solo with Beserkley Records. In 1976, this great music lover released a new version of his old album called Modern Lovers. The members of this new music group were different. This album led to the journey of this great music lover from electric rock music to gentle textures. There was definitely a strong base of the rock and roll of the 50s in the music of Richman. This showed that he indeed had passion for creative music and was a great music lover.

After success in the US, Richman moved to Great Britain. In Great Britain, this great music lover was recognized as the champion of punk rock music. The singles of this great music lover became instant hits. His album Roadrunner hit the charts at no 11. Another album Egyptian Reggie touched the hearts of millions. It ranked at no 5 in the 1977 music charts.
