| Punk Music: A Wave Of Transition In Music |
|
Although not considered as quite socialist and auspicious kind of music, punk music has still managed to save a place in the hearts of the people of suburban America and Australia.
Advent of punk music Punk music with its peppy beats, catchy tunes and reality expressing lyrics had been widely appreciated and it will hopefully continue to stay long in the music pool. Punk music was earlier called garage music because of the fact that some young men started composing it with not so hardcore musical gadgets like tin boxes and iron sticks, with no hard and fast rules. In fact, this music is the topmost breaker of all the rules and disciplines of music. Emerged in the late 60's in Australia and mid 70's in America , punk music grew fast and slow at irregular intervals and had more than expected hills and valleys in its life. The stooges and MC5 were the pioneers of punk with politics targeting lyrics and limited skills and instruments. Followed by them were the velvet underground and the glam rock who gave few more aspects to the wave of music, mostly of loud and noisy sort. The Ramones, Johnny thunders and the heart breakers et al were some of the bands amalgamated by their camaraderie, locality and shared harmonious influences. New face of punk music While punk was developing a new face in America, England had another story going on. When it was going through a rough economical phase, the youth of the nation had a well sharpen sword called the punk to attack the state. They would write trashy and stringent lyrics for its inefficiency and incapability. One of the major bands was the Sex Pistols by Malcolm McClaren who had lately came back from U.S. where he kept on trying yet failed to restructure the New York Dolls. Since he craved to redo it, he expected the youths who labored at his shop to do it for him and they developed a large following very quickly. If we talk about the massive punk rock bands that had given punk a solid draw round, the list would undoubtedly constitutes the names: * The Stooges * The Velvet Underground * The Ramones * The Sex Pistols * The New York dolls Punk is often misinterpreted for its experimental noise and explosive yet passionate form of beats but the best thing about punk rock that spread it like air was its solid muscular outputs despite the point that no fixed and routine input was to be given. One could mould it in one's own way and that is what split the genre into sub divisions of it. In the shadow of developing their own styles, some of the bands stepped far away from the real punk rock. However, since punk has no rules, everyone can punk their own way. Related Articles
